Beaded Salmon Leather Drops
These delicate Salmon Leather Earrings are subtle yet they communicate so many of the things we love about Alaska; our ocean, our fish, the filtered light of 11:30 on a mid June night, the shining drops of dew along a leaf edge in the morning.
Each drop is carefully formed in sustainable sterling silver which acts as a frame for the handmade salmon leather. To join these together glass beads are stitched with nylon thread around the perimeter, capturing both the leather and silver in the process.
Handmade salmon leather, sustainable sterling silver, glass beads, nylon thread. Measures approximately 2 3/8"H x 1" W (including ear wire).

The level of craftsmanship and attention to detail that goes into each and every piece, however, is the same. Stray Goose Studio’s jewelry line is made of whimsical, lightweight and unique pieces that bridge the artists other professions—Net Mending and Commercial Fishing. When at work stripping a net for repair it’s not only with the eyes of a mender that she is looking. The twines that are used to lace and sew seams in fishing-net are subjected to all kinds of use and abuse during their years of service, which makes for interesting colors and textures. Once in the studio, these salvaged twines are designed into jewelry using decorative and seaman’s knots, sometimes in combination with beadwork. Remnant handmade salmon leather is also used in Stray Goose Studio’s jewelry line. These pieces are hand sewn and constructed using cold connections in conjunction with sustainable sterling silver and other metals sourced from the USA.
Your Stray Goose Studio Jewelry will arrive wrapped in recycled wax paper inside a 100% post-consumer kraft pillow box.
